Ripple in Stillwater
was never meant to be a personal blog, but I need to steer into that territory for a moment.
Three weeks ago, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Tomorrow
I start chemotherapy to try to destroy it. I’ve fought a lot of battles in my
life and beaten some long odds. None of them have ever been life-threatening,
though, so at this point, they all seem rather inconsequential.
This one’s for real, and I’m going to need all the energy I
can muster to beat it. Consequently, you may see a little reduction in flow
here at Ripple in Stillwater . I’ll
be recycling some old material to keep you entertained in the meantime.
Thanks for your understanding as we work our way through
these troubled waters.
Though we are on very opposite sides of the political spectrum, we share a common enemy: cancer. I am a 15-year ovarian cancer survivor (given 60% chance to live when diagnosed). I have a dear friend who was diagnosed 5 years ago with pancreatic cancer. He's clear of any today and beat the odds twice (colon cancer in his 20s).
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the best, and your fighting spirit with supportive friends and family will be of supreme help in your battle. Be well and fight like hell.

And that's the horror.
